You need great fruit to make great wine and once again, we have procured some of the best grapes in the region from Oakville. The 2006 harvest season was nice and cool, which allowed the grapes to have extra "hang time" on the vine, ideal for creating a rich, fruitful wine.

The spicy Syrah grape resonates in the nose. It has intense fruit that is nicely balanced with just the right amount of acid. There is a lovely burnt caramel finish which blends nicely with the Syrah fruit.

We have fallen in love with many French cheeses. What sets them apart from local cheeses is that they are non-pasteurized and very aromatic. We recently found Epoisses, a rind washed cheese, right here in Davis. We served it with crusty ciabatta bread and our Syrah. A match made in heaven!
